Beached Festival

This year we’re excited to say we’ll be performing at Manchester’s Beached Festival.

Coming from a coastal town ourselves, we’re usually at home (dancing) on the sand, so it’s exciting to us that the organisers of this Festival plan on bringing the beach to Manchester for a weekend of fun right in the City.  Having just played our own show at the RNCM in Manchester, it’s great to be heading back there this summer to play at Beached Festival.  You can check out the rest of the line-up here and buy tickets for the event here.
See you in the (sand) pit!

2000 trees festival

We’re pleased to announce that we’ll be playing at this Summers 2000 Trees Festival in Cheltenham on Friday 13th July.

What’s special about this date is that we’ll not only be packing the guitars for a full-on electric set on the main stage, but we’ll also be doing our a cappella thing earlier in the day as well. Both sets!

That’s twice the reason to get involved and pick up a ticket we’d say….
Check out 2000 Trees HERE!

RANT! Out today

Hello everybody

Our new record ‘Rant’ is released today – an album we first dreamt of making way back when we recorded our debut.  It’s an a capella record, so if you’ve not heard anything from it yet, that means it has no instrumentation, it’s all made up entirely of vocals only.
You can order your copy of Rant by going here:
It’s the third full-length release on our own label, Nul Records, and we’re excited to say that we’re hitting the road from today to sing (and play) some songs from it (and our back catalogue), too.
It’s a special tour for us as we’re hitting venues that we haven’t played in before – and we’re performing in a way that we may never re-visit.  Check out the dates – come on down and get involved – Jaff is bringing a cello with him – it’s worth the ticket price to see that alone, I’d say.

Join us on a scenic detour through the delightful climes of a cappella music! Enjoy the album, everybody!
Yours truly,
The Futureheads

Sunderland show, Sunderland show, Sunderland show

Hey up!

We’re ecstatic and jubilant to announce that on May 19th we are playing a show in Sunderland. It’s at the Minster which, for those of you who were born when we were is behind Crowtree Leisure Centre, and for those born after is opposite the Travelodge. We’re playing a night for our good friends and fellow mackems Frankie and the Heartstrings. They’re putting on a series of nights in different settings outside of the normal gig ‘sphere’ and we’re well into supporting it.

We’ll be playing our a capella and acoustic set which sees us boasting cello, banjo and mandolin in the ‘never thought we’d play these at a gig’ section of the tour programme. Plus we get to sing in a church, the epitome of acoustic perfection for singing, many would argue. It’s gonna be grand.

Support will be announced soon, but I can tell you all now it’s gonna be a treat. So come along, dance, be merry and enjoy the Futureheads in a church!

Tickets are on sale on Wednesday morning, from See & Net Tickets as well as in Person.

&  in person from Hot Rats Records, Sunderland + Reflex Records, Newcastle.

The Futureheads x
