This is a very special week for The Futureheads. It’s been a long time coming this week, and now it is here. This week is a triple whammy of triumphant treats.
Over the course of some 15 months we have written, bitten, recorded and finished our 4th long player. Our fourth album is called ‘The Chaos’, we are dead chuffed with how it’s turned out. Delighted even. People keep saying things like, ‘the best since their first album’, ‘a return to form’, ‘ four out of five’ or even ’5/5!’. But this doesn’t matter, it’s your opinion that counts. Your opinion is the ONLY one that is correct. We are in love with these new songs. If only we could go on tour…….
Well wha’dya know. We ARE on tour. Woopwoop. The second triumph is this. Back on the road, travelling through our scenic, lusciously green Island is always a winner but today we are giddy with excitement, we can’t wait to play for our fans again, a long time coming but we are fully prepared to make this the best tour we have ever done and give our loyal fans a royal musical banquet. Nearly used the word orgy there. Haha. Never again.
The final detail that makes this a time of triumph is Jaff. Our modest, affable bassist ran the bloody London Marathon on Sunday, he trained like a gladiator and did it in a very good time. We are all very proud of him, what a guy. Round of applause for the album, the tour and the running man.
Not many tickets left so if you were planning on coming to any of the gigs then get your ticket sooner rather than later. Failing that, get a pint glass and you can listen through the venue wall. Heartbeat Song sounds great through the wall.
