HEAR WHAT KELIS THOUGHT OF OUR LIVE LOUNGE COVER OF ‘ACAPELLA’!

Ok, so last Saturday we were in Maida Vale 4 for our slot on Radio1's world-famous 'Live Lounge'. We performed an acoustic version of 'Heartbeat Song', which can be listened to for a few more days at the Radio1 website, on Jo Whiley's page, along with the obligatory 'Live Lounge' cover-version. We chose Kelis' new tune 'Acapella' to give a good old Futureheads once-over, keeping it strictly acapella with no instruments in sight... Luckily for us, Kelis was chatting with Reggie Yates on the Radio1 Chart Show the following afternoon, and he played her our version, to she what she thought of the mackem barbershop re-interpretation. The clip below shows how Kelis responded, and you never know, that collab project may happen yet....

Getting ready for next year

Hey everyone So 2009 is getting pretty old, the decade is being written off already with polls coming out of every angle and media-world putting it to bed and getting ready for next year. Well, I'm here to tell you that it's not over yet. 2009 still has a bit of mileage in it, especially when it comes to The Futureheads. We've just put a brand new track, 'Struck Dumb' up there on the Clash Music Website for all you guys to download completely free of charge, and the fun doesn't stop there. Keeping up with tradition, we're delighted to announce that we'll be playing a super-small Xmas show at The Lexington in London on December 14th, and you lot on this here mailing list get first refusal (yeah right, refusal) on tickets for it. We'll be playing a whole load of NEW tunes, and obviously all the big ones from albums past. Everyone on the mailing list will get a ticket access emailed to them tomorrow, with those left going on friday morning.

The Futureheads: The FAC & Filesharing

I was forwarded Lily Allen’s MySpace blog yesterday – where she puts out there, fair and square, her attitudes toward filesharing, and, notably, her opinion on the FAC. Well, seeing as I’m a Board Member of the Featured Artists Coalition, and that my own band, The Futureheads, run our own record label, I thought it was high time I shoved my two penneth in.

Made from some kind of reconstituted soy, obviously

Hey I’m walkin’ here... So here I am, sitting in my hotel room in New York. I’ll be honest, I’m having a blast. I love this city. I love the fact that last night Ross and I went to veggie restaurant and I had fish sticks and half a barbeque chicken (made from some kind of reconstituted soy, obviously).

Help I’m on a helicopter, stop trying to do stunts

Greetings. Just dropping a line to inform those whom it may concern the activities and adventures of The 'Heads over the past few weeks. This is longest we have been away in ages, festival season is in full swing and we have been stepping from country to country (well sleeping on a moving bus) playing as many as it is humanly possible. Thanks to everybody that saw us and danced and clapped etc. My favourite was in Holland, 'Music in my Head' was it's name and the crowd were superb.

Hello to all and sundry, Thanks to everyone that like and bought our last single 'Twist', it did really well, blowing our expectations out of the water like air in a hot tub.
